Brewery: Flower Pots
ABV: 4.1%
Style: Session IPA
Location: Cheriton, Hampshire
Aroma: Hints of citrus fruits waft through, injected by a mild grassiness from the hops and a background of spices helps act as a counterpoint.
Colour: A shimmering Gold with a two finger ivory colour head.
Flavour: A clean and refreshing bitterness, followed by tart lemony background that elevates the varied hop bill that features a combination of grassy and hoppy notes, followed by a spicy aftertaste. Meanwhile the mouthfeeel is smooth and creamy due to the use of flaked oats in the mix, which helps draw the flavours out further.
Verdict: An easy drinking beer with a dry yet refreshing clean bitterness, creamy mouthfeel, an underlying citrussy tartnesss and a spicy aftertaste. This beer is a showcase of British hops, the varied hop bill of Olicana, Harlequin and Jester is noticeable and adds to the disctinct character of this beer. Meanwhile the malt is barely noticeable and adds nothing to the overall flavours, which slightly detracts from the overall experience.
