Beer Review: Samuel Smith's Apricot Ale

Name: Apricot Ale

Brewery: Samuel Smith

ABV: 5.1%

Style: Fruit Beer

Location: Tadcaster, North Yorkshire

Aroma: Distinct apricot aromas, golden syrup and vanilla.

Colour: Dark golden brown, on the cloudy side. One finger white head.

Taste: Sweet, fruity, distict taste of apricots that cuts through the bitterness of the beer which can be detected in the background. A creamy and cloying mouthfeel adds to the overall experience. Traces of vanilla like sweetness runs through the background, with some tartness present, but not a lot of depth and character to the flavours overall.

Rating: 7/10
