Beer Review: Lincoln Green Hood

Name: Hood

Brewery: Lincoln Green

ABV: 4.7%

Style: Best Bitter

Location: Hucknall, Notts

Aroma: Hoppy, grassy, some roasted notes from the hops.

Colour: Amber brown, with a one finger white head.

Flavour: Profoundly bitter, grassy, mildly hoppy, peppery, a biscuity dry feel, a caramel malty background with some elements of fruitness, smooth mouthfeel. Some roasted notes from the malt, give the beer an extra boost.

Verdict: A flavoursome traditional bitter, good use of three hop varieties, they are allowed to shine, whilst the strength and notes from the malt help gives it body and character, in return an extra depth that milder bitters lack. Verging on a ESB, its fruity, malt, rich roasted notes, and a pleasant spiciness

Rating: 8/10
