Aroma: Strong hints of malt, whisky and sherry, notes of fruit and hops.
Colour: Amber with a one finger white head.
Flavour: A muted bitterness leads off to a background of caramel sweetness, followed by hints of spices and bannana detectable in the background. There is little head retention, the mouthfeel is close to watery. The aftertaste is warming, typical of a beer of this strength.
Verdict: A bit dissapointing, while it gives off some promising aromas, the flavours are light and far between, making it hard to appreciate the excess of its stength and character. While there is some sweetness and some fruity background notes, there is not much else to go on. There are better examples of strong ale out there than this.
