Beer Review: Mighty Oak Gorgeous George

Name: Gorgeous George

ABV: 4.2%

Brewery: Mighty Oak

Style: Best Bitter

Location: Maldon, Essex

Aroma: Bags of malt, boiled fruits, wholemeal bread and a whiff of tartness.

Colour: One finger off-white head, copper brown in colour.

Flavour: A biscuity bitterness is immedietely apparent on first sip, followed by a charge of toffee notes and mellow fruitiness. A touch woody in the background with hints of roasted malt coming through and a raft of spices that gives off lingering pepperiness.

Verdict: A consumate best bitter that delivers on its promise and excells in its quality. Despite its sessionable strength it delivers on a range of flavours, giving off a rich and varied character. A quaffable beer of the finest order.

Rating: 9/10
