Brewery: Fullers
ABV: 4.3%
Style: Red Ale
Location: Chiswick, London
Aroma: Grassy hops mingled with toast, hints of marmalade thrown in.
Colour: Reddish amber with a thin one finger buff head.
Taste: A subdued bitterness, some notes of hedgerow tartness with a dash of maramalade. The maltiness seems on the light side while hops lack a spicy kick leading a dull finish. Smooth mouthfeel, a tad chewy.
Verdict: An unremarkable beer that is light on flavour, the promise of bold flavours seems have been eluded, perhaps as a means to make it more sessionable to the consumer. This leaves it rather characterless and without a paddle, a mere gimmick of a beer, you'd find better examples out there.
